The Prince of Egypt

The new Stephen Schwartz stage musical The Prince of Egypt in London for a strictly limited 32-week season

Ancient Egypt. Two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege now find themselves divided by a secret past. One of them must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people, as both face up to destiny's that will change history forever.

Based on the Bible book of Exodus and the account of how Moses went from being a prince of Egypt to leading the nation of Israel out of Egypt.

A live stage musical based on DreamWorks award-winning 1998 animated film. This production features ten new songs by Stephen Schwartz, along with five from the film version, including the Academy Award-winning number, When You Believe; and Deliver Us; All I Ever Wanted; and Through Heaven's Eyes.

Casting to be announced. Directed by Scott Schwartz with choreography bt Sean Cheesman, sets by Kevin Depinet, costumes by Ann Hould-Ward, projections by Jon Driscoll, lighting by Mike Billings, and sound by Gareth Owen. A new stage musical, adapted from the DreamWorks animated film, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Philip LaZebnik.

Stephen Schwartz's West End credits include the musicals Wicked which is currently playing at the Apollo Victoria Theatre; Children of Eden at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1991; and Godspell at the Wyndham's Theatre in 1972.
