World Premiere Production of India's Greatest Legend

This world premiere production of Mahabharata is an exciting new music theatre work by multi-award winning composer Nitin Sawhney and Olivier Award winning writer Stephen Clark.

Mahabharata is the great epic story of ancient India, revealing a mythic world of bloody conflict, magic and beauty. Mahabharata is the story of heroes and gods, of the quest for spiritual life in heaven and the brutality of the darkest age of the earth is seen through the eyes of Draupadi: a woman who defies her destiny to become wife to five brothers and the catalyst for the world's most terrible war.

Now an international cast of 27 singers, dancers and musicians bring Mahabharata to live in this brand new production that is directed by Stuart Wood and features choreography by Gauri Sharma, the leading Kathak exponent and Akram Khan collaborator. This sensational two and a half hour show revisits this classic tale with a stunning contemporary sensibility. An exhilarating synthesis of music dance, visual magic and puppetry, Mahabharata is a total theatre experience.
