Fiddler on the Roof

The exhilarating, joyous and inspiring musical that is Fiddler on the Roof is coming to a theatre near you in this spectacular production starring Joe McGann.

In a Jewish village in Czarist Russia dairyman Tevye (Joe McGann) is doing his best to preserve tradition in the face of a changing world, but when his daughters refuse the matchmaker’s advice and marry for love, Tevye must choose between their happiness and those beloved traditions.

Packed with some of the best-loved songs in the history of musicals, this magnificent show has struck such a chord in audiences that it became one of the longest running productions on Broadway and won a total of nine Tony awards. This nationwide tour features star of stage and screen Joe McGann, best known for his role as Charlie Burrows in The Upper Hand, in the lead role of the man who dreams of riches, respect and a quiet family life.

Fiddler on the Roof is blessed with a gloriously rousing score full of memorable melodies including Tradition; Matchmaker Matchmaker; Sunrise Sunset; To Life!; and of course If I Were a Rich Man - which are all bound by a moving and compelling storyline, heartwarming humour and colourful characters, Jerome Robbins’ dramatic original choreography, wonderfully evocative sets and costumes make this the musical to take to your hearts!

Fiddler on the Roof has book by Joseph Stein, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.
