It is adapted by Richard Nelson with Colin Chambers from The Diaries of Kenneth Tynan edited by John Lahr. Based on the book The Diaries of Kenneth Tynan which where written over the last ten years of Kenneth Tynan's life, this play provides a painfully honest and revealing portrait of one of the most interesting and complex men of our time. Kenneth Tynan was the Literary Manager of the National Theatre under Laurence Olivier, a dominant theatre critic, a journalist, the producer of the infamous revue Oh! Calcutta!. Kenneth Tynan was a profound, original and witty observer of his world. And never was he more ruthless than when he turned his sights upon himself. This one man show is performed by Corin Redgrave and is presented by The Royal Shakespeare Company. NOTE: This production is not suitable for children under the age of fifteen. "An excellent one-man show that is absorbingly performed by Corin Redgrave" The Independent "Immaculately performed by Corin Redgrave... it is consummate acting based on an acute understanding of a great critic and a damaged man" The Guardian "The diaries provide the material for a highly entertaining, at times desperately sad one-man show" The Daily Telegraph "Sometimes trivial, often cryingly funny, this ultimately develops into a poignant portrait of a professionally struggling, dying man" The Independent on Sunday The following are available to buy online from amazon.co.uk in the UK: | |||||||
