Please Note: This production was due to play at a specially constructed 'Thai Pavilion' in Russell Square from 7 to 29 October 2005, unfortunately a technical problem with the Pavilion has forced the postponement of this production.

The tradition behind the modern Lady Boys of Bangkok goes back a long way. For centuries in the kingdom of Siam, as Thailand was previously known, some people born boys have chosen to adopt the mannerisms and lifestyles of girls, often from an early age. They're known as 'Kathoey' and enjoy a recognised and respected position in their communities. Frequently in the past some would form themselves into troupes of travelling entertainers and attract huge crowds to what was, in effect, the original form of a modern cabaret show.

"A glamorous cocktail of cabaret, dance and comedy" The Times

The Lady Boys of Bangkok act, which has been performing regularly in Europe and all over the world for the past seven years is the show that guarantees you'll never look at the opposite sex in the same way again!

"There's something valiant and graceful about The LadyBoys of Bangkok, who are not merely female-impersonators... These prime tourist attractions at Bangkok's Mambo Cabaret Club now show London how they blend Thailand's national dances with western disco and pop... At their best the Lady Boys celebrate the triumph of eastern illusion and disguise. For 80 minutes they make gender change look easy." The London Evening Standard
