Gunther von Hagens' Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies

In Body Worlds and The Mirror of Times scientist Gunther von Hagens and physician Angelina Whalley make accessible the study of the human body, once exclusive to the medical community.

Dr. von Hagens' groundbreaking science of Plastination, the polymer preservation of anatomical specimens, allows human bodies to be presented in dramatic, aesthetic displays that mesh science and the humanities, invite everyone to contemplate, study, and reflect on the awesome human body.

Once in a while there comes an exhibition with the power to change the way we see ourselves

Body Worlds and The Mirror of Times will feature a special presentation on the human life cycle and ageing. Visitors will witness the body living through time - at its most radiant, and as it changes, grows, matures, peaks, and finally wanes. The exhibition shows the complexity, resilience, and vulnerability of the human body through anatomical studies of the body in distress, disease and optimal health. The exhibition includes human and animal specimens to be seen in London for the first time. The plastinates show the form, beauty, function, and potential of the human and animal body.

Body Worlds in London is being staged at The Bubble Exhibition Space at The O2 from 24 October 2008 to 23 August 2009.
