The zany and hilarious children's stage show Aliens Love Underpants in London for a strictly limited summer season of special daytime performances - back in London by popular demand!
Recommended for families with children aged 3 and up, the best-selling children’s book by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort has been wonderfully brought to life on stage in an adaptation by Adam Bampton-Smith that features stunning effects, madcap action, original music and lots of aliens of course!
"Aliens love underpants of every shape and size. But there are no underpants in space. So here’s a big surprise!" This fresh and funny live stage production is sure to delight the whole family, in fact you are sure to be laughing your PANTS off!! This production comes into London's West End following a major regional tour and a six week season in July and August 2015 at London's Leicester Square Theatre.
When this production was originally seen at London's Leicester Square Theatre in the summer of 2014, Neil Norman in the Daily Express siad that, "for sheer energy and unadulterated laughs Aliens Love Underpants takes some beating. The five–strong cast work their socks off as puppeteers, entertainers and characters in the stage show of the mad books about the knicker–nicking aliens. The Muppet–like monsters are very funny. I loved the one who pops out of the bed and the little yellow one who emerges from a drawer, making the most of an underwritten part. There is loads of audience participation on the subject of underwear. No jokes about monsters in pants, please." Miriam Gillinson in the Guardian wrote: "Let's not beat around the bush. Aliens Love Underpants is not a grand or sophisticated piece of art. But Adam Bampton-Smith's show, which has been adapted from Claire Freedman and Ben Cort's hugely popular picture book, is one hour of pure, unadulterated silliness. It is children's TV in theatre form; loud, energetic and absurdly upbeat. There are fluffy puppets, charming performances and plenty of singing and dancing. And pants – lots and lots of pants... One of the best aspects of the show is the easy and spontaneous interaction between the actors and the children in the audience... there is much magic and mischief here – and that, really, is the essence of all great family theatre."
Cast includes Abigail Carter-Simpson, Eve Pearson-Wright, Alex James Ellison, Scott Jones and Mark Collier - casting subject to change without notice. Directed by Adam Bampton-Smith with choreography by Emma Clayton, designs by Isla Shaw and lighting by Will Evans.
Aliens Love Underpants in London at the Dominion Theatre opened on 1 August 2015 and closed on 31 August 2015.
