For London Ice Skating Rinks - click here IceSpace Potters Field, London, SE1 2JR - billed as the planet's first ever five-star Arctic attraction, it opened to the public in London on 1 May 2006 and closed barely three weeks later on 20 May 2006. It was due to run up to 30 June 2006 but closed early apparently to lack of ticket sales. IceSpace is this summer's coolest visitor attraction in London IceSpace is a seriously cool, world touring arrangement of ice sculpture, illumination, technology, music, cuisine, visual arts and performance amd promises to be a sensational interactive ice experience. In addition there is the Ice Space Ice Rink to enjoy! Everything will be created by the world's leading ice sculptors on a scale never seen outside frozen climates and the Arctic Circle including an outdoor ice rink. IceSpace is made out of more than 2,000 blocks of pure ice representing over 200 tons of uncut frozen water. The ice is shipped all the way from Canada and it takes 25 experienced ice sculptors and structure builders a total of three months to prepare and craft the IceSpace experience within a temperature-controlled environment of between -3 and -5 degrees Celsius. Therefore please note that warm clothing is recommended and closed toe footwear is essential. Change worlds without changing time zones! What is IceSpace?
