Half Price Theatre Ticket Booth (TKTS)
in London's Leicester Square
The Ticket Booth is run by The Society of London Theatre (SOLT) and sells same day theatre tickets at 50% discount
The Half Price Theatre Ticket Booth sells tickets for a wide selection of West End theatre shows on the day of performance only. Tickets, which are normally top price, are sold at half price plus a service charge of £2.50 a ticket - cash, credit cards and debit cards are accepted BUT not cheques or travellers cheques.
Located in the clock tower building in the southern part of Leicester Square, the Ticket Booth is open Monday to Saturday from 10.00am to 7.00pm and Sunday 12noon to about 3.00pm
Tickets are sold strictly from the 'top-of-the-pile' - there is no choice of where you sit. Generally the seats are in the [orchestra] stalls and, as these are tickets that have not been been sold by the Box Office, they are therefore likely to be either in the very front rows, on the side of the theatre or at the back of the stalls area.
As a guide, ticket prices for musicals are around £22.50 to £27.50 and for plays & comedies around £22.50 to £25.00 (including a £2.50 service charge per ticket)
While there are other 'discount' ticket outlets in Leicester Square and the surrounding area, the Ticket Booth pictured below is The Society of London Theatre's only official half price ticket outlet in Leicester Square.
The following productions are currently generally NOT sold at 50% discount the booth:
- Board showing ticket availability for evening performances
- Window displaying information about productions NOT currently available from the Booth
- Evening tickets sold from these windows
- Matinee tickets sold from these windows
- Board showing ticket availability for matinee performances
The ticket booth sometimes sells some tickets at a 25% discount and others at full price.
