His West End credits include being the alternate 'Elvis' in the stage musical Jailhouse Rock at London's Piccadilly Theatre. Michael says: "I've always enjoyed musical theatre and I'm a massive John Travolta fan. I must have all his films on DVD. I think he's amazing and I've seen the musical at least eight times."

Saturday 26 May 2007: This was the fifth week of the live Grease is the Word knock-out television show. After each of the four finalists had sung their Uptempo song, the Judges had to make a decision on who would be the first to be knocked out this evening - they decided to knock out Danny Rhodes. AFter it was announced, Danny admitted: "I came into the competition assuming I'd be able to overcome my speech problems. But I'm just not ready." Now each of the remaining three finalists had to face the public vote as they each sung a ballad - Michael sung 'Patience' and David Ian told him after: "I require someone who can fill and thrill 2000 seats per night and you've proved to me that you can do that." Afterwards Zoe Ball announced that the finalist that the public alone had voted to be knocked out was Michael.
